Our History

Fair Car Care Center started in 1980 as an exclusive “Fair Muffler Shop” Franchisor. With an MBA from Governors State University, our owner began a career in the Automotive Aftermarket Business in 1983 as a Fair Muffler Shop Franchise Owner. However, with the advancement of automotive technologies, exhaust systems on new vehicles were increasingly made of stainless steel—reducing the muffler replacement market and resulting in store closures throughout the franchise system. In the mid-2000s, our owner took this opportunity to reimagine the shop from a “Muffler Shop” image to a complete automotive repair facility: Fair Car Care Center. This reimaging process involved investing heavily in new equipment and training staff members to ensure quality repairs and services for all vehicle makes and models. We now offer numerous services such as brake repair, emissions repair, check engine light diagnostics, tune-ups, suspension repair, emissions and exhaust repair, cooling system services, and A/C services. We can also install performance exhaust systems on muscle cars, street rods, classic cars, and tuners.
